DeepSeek
DeepSeek is the engine you pick when the target language is Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or another East / South-East Asian language. The model is trained with a much heavier weighting on Asian languages than the other three providers, and it shows in the fluency and naturalness of the output.
Strengths
Section titled “Strengths”- Asian languages. Noticeably more natural on Mandarin (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian than Gemini or Claude.
- Handles CJK character encoding edge cases cleanly. Field labels with half-width / full-width punctuation, honorific suffixes, and the 40-character limit on Salesforce field labels all come back correct.
- Very fast on large batches. Handles tens of thousands of rows in a single pass without rate-limit stumbles.
Weaknesses
Section titled “Weaknesses”- Weaker on European languages than Mistral or Claude. For French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish — pick something else.
- Non-EEA hosted. International transfers require SCCs (see the privacy policy). If your legal team blocks non-EEA providers, use Mistral.
When to pick it
Section titled “When to pick it”- Localising a Salesforce org to Japanese, Korean, or Mandarin.
- Expanding into APAC markets where several Asian languages are in scope at once.
- Translating custom picklist values into Asian languages where Gemini has given you awkward or literal results.
When not to pick it
Section titled “When not to pick it”- EU-only data residency requirements.
- European-language targets — Mistral, Gemini, and Claude all beat it here.
